Vancouver PCG Hosts a Kapihan with the Media

The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver led by Consul General Maria Andrelita S. Austria meets with some Filipino-Canadian media members during the Kapihan sa Konsulado on 18 August 2021.

18 August 2021 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver hosted a Kapihan sa Konsulado with some Filipino-Canadian media members in British Columbia. The Kapihan sa Konsulado is one of the initiatives of the Consulate to engage members of the Filipino community through informal coffee gatherings.

Consul General Maria Andrelita S. Austria outlined the priorities and programs of the Consulate for the rest of the year, with emphasis on further enhancing services for Filipinos under its jurisdiction.  The meeting also explored areas for possible cooperation and discussed ideas on how the media and the Consulate can collaborate in addressing issues faced by the Filipino-Canadians in Metro Vancouver.

The media participants assured the Consulate of their help in disseminating important information to the Filipino-Canadian community.

Deputy Consul General Arlene T. Magno encourages all eligible Filipino citizens to register themselves as Overseas Voters before 30 September 2021, the last day of the registration campaign.
