Philippine Consulate General Observes Rizal Day

19 January 2026, Vancouver B.C. - Consul General Gina Jamoralin led a solemn ceremony at the Philippine Consulate General to commemorate the death and martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal on 29 December 2025. The ceremony began with flag raising and flower offering before the Rizal bust located at the Consulate.  The ceremony honoring Rizal’s legacy was joined by members of the Knights of Rizal and the Consulate.

As part of the program, the Consulate also screened the documentary film, “Sa Landas ng Paglaya, produced by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP). Dr. Rizal’s role in the country’s struggle for independence continues to inspire Filipinos around the world to uphold patriotism and love for country. END
