For this year, Consul General Jamoralin emphasized the Consulate’s involvement in both the flag-raising ceremonies and the cultural activities to be organized by various Filipino organizations in different cities during the Filipino Heritage Month in June. She reiterated the Consulate’s request for cooperation in (a) updating the first edition of Filcom directory published by the Philippine Consulate in June 2025, (b) registering for overseas voting for the 2028 national elections in the PH, and (c) participating in the PH Consulate in Vancouver’s Emergency Response Mapping Registry (VERMAP) and; (d) call for nominations of CFO’s Presidential Awards; announcement of DMW’s upcoming programs – Bagong Bayani Awards and Likha Global Awards.
At the Q&A session, Filipino community organizations showed their enthusiasm in joining the activities lined up for 2026, asking for clarification on the details, suggesting ways to develop them, and offering their support.
In his closing remarks, Deputy Consul General Paul Vincent L. Uy expressed the PH Consulate’s confidence that with the active support and generous cooperation of all Filipino community organizations, this year’s activities would all be successful. He also reassured them that that the PH Consulate is always ready to promote and protect the welfare of the Filipino communities in western Canada END.
