PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN VANCOUVER PARTICIPATES IN A NETWORKING RECEPTION ORGANIZED BY THE BC COUNCIL FOR INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION

Consul General Maria Andrelita Austria (standing) speaks on the Philippines’ interest to see more collaboration with the BC government on bridging opportunities to help Filipino graduates integrate professionally and in strengthening its K-12 education through a training the trainors program.

Consul General Maria Andrelita S. Austria and Deputy Consul General Arlene T. Magno attended a Consular Corps Reception organized by the British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE) at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver on 26 January 2023.  The networking event provided the opportunity for the Consular Corps to learn about the BCCIE’s mandate, the education system in BC and the provincial government’s education strategy on the diversification of international education, particularly outside of the Lower Mainland, as well as for the Consular Corps to share their respective educational priorities with the BC government.  Around 30 members of the Consular Corps attended the Reception, along with BC government officials, led by Deputy Minister  Bobbi Plecas of the BC Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, and various representatives from the education sector in BC.
