Vancouver PCG and Ottawa PE Explore PH-Canada LNG Cooperation

Vancouver, BC, 15 May 2026 - Vancouver PCG Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin joined H. E. Jose Victor Chan-Gonzaga, PH Ambassador to Canada, in meeting with LNG Canada President & CEO Christopher Cooper at the LNG Canada’s Vancouver office on 7 May 2026 in order to explore Philippines cooperation with LNG Canada on liquefied natural gas (LNG). Amb. Chan-Gonzaga explained the Philippines’ search for alternative and new sources of oil in order to help meet its growing energy needs amidst challenges in terms of energy security, rising power demand, and the need to diversify fuel sources.

LNG Canada President & CEO Christopher Cooper described Canada’s potential to become among top five leading LNG exporters in the world. He explained how the Philippines could maximize the opportunities presented by LNG Canada’s plans to increase its outputs. END
