Vancouver PCG Arranges PH Ambassador’s Courtesy Call on Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim

Vancouver, BC, 15 May 2026 - Vancouver PCG Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin joined H. E. Jose Victor Chan-Gonzaga, PH Ambassador to Canada, in a courtesy call on Vancouver City Mayor Ken Sim on 07 May 2026. Ambassador Chan-Gonzaga expressed appreciation for Vancouver City Hall’s continued hospitality and support for the 39,000 Filipinos residing in Vancouver. He also noted the active partnership between the City Hall and the Philippine Consulate. Mayor Sim then praised Consul General Jamoralin for her leadership during the Lapu-Lapu tragedy which occurred in April 2025, uniting BC and Vancouver officials with the Filipino community to provide comfort and support for the victims while fostering solidarity among all stakeholders.

The two sides explored areas for further cooperation to promote and protect the welfare of Filipinos in Vancouver such as credential recognition of Filipino professionals and the establishment of a Filipino cultural center. END
