29 March 2022 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver held the launching of and press conference for the first Filipino Restaurant Month in Canada (FRMC) on             21 March 2022 at Post’s Consular lobby.  The event was attended by media personalities, influencers and vloggers.

The FRMC is the Philippine Posts in Canada’s Common Cultural Calendar Project spearheaded by the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary and Philippine Department of Tourism – San Francisco.  For the entire month of April, select Filipino restaurants in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, and beyond will be offering prix fixe menus

Consul General Maria Andrelita Austria, in her remarks, noted that this project is consistent with the Consulate’s advocacy to ensure that more and more people enjoy a “Philippine experience”. She presented the seven (7) participating restaurants in British Columbia -- Max’s Restaurant, Grandt Kitchen, Kumare, Lyra Lou’s Cakes, Plato Filipino, Smokehouse Sandwich Co. and Pampanga’s Cuisine.  Consul General Austria emphasized that they serve as our cultural ambassadors, promoting Filipino food and culture throughout the province.  END
