In her remarks, Consul General Jamoralin expressed gratitude to UFCABC President Arcie Lim and the organization for their tireless efforts in organizing the event.
The Consul General also highlighted her participation the previous day at Vancouver City Hall, where Mayor Ken Sim formally presented the proclamation declaring June as Filipino Heritage Month in Vancouver, recognizing the significant contributions of Filipino Canadians to the city and country.
She further noted a historic milestone being celebrated this year - the 70th anniversary of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver. Established in May 1956, the Consulate was the first official presence of the Philippine Government in Canada, preceding the establishment of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa by 15 years.
Consul General Jamoralin also acknowledged the more than one million Filipinos who now call Canada home and recognized their contributions across various sectors, from healthcare to business and public service.
