30 June 2026, Burnaby, B.C. — The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver led by Consul General Gina Jamoralin joined the opening day of the 4th Annual Pinoy Festival held at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby on 20 June 2026. This year’s theme entitled, “One World, One Goal, One Filipino Spirit” is a two-day celebration from 20 to 21 June 2026 that brought together Filipinos and friends of the Filipino community from across British Columbia.
The festival commenced with a vibrant Solidarity Parade at 10:00 a.m., where the One Country Team members of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver marched alongside B.C. officials, Filipino community leaders and cultural groups.

Consul General Jamoralin in her remarks, congratulated the Pinoy Festival 2026 Organizing team headed by Mr. Paul Clemente as Chair and Ms. Sheena Dela Torre as Program Co-Director for making the 4th Annual Pinoy Festival a meaningful celebration of Filipino identity, culture, and community spirit.

She highlighted the commemoration of two important milestones this year - the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and the 70th Anniversary of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver. Established in May 1956, the Vancouver Consulate was the first Philippine diplomatic representation in Canada and served as the cornerstone of Philippine-Canadian relations before the establishment of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa in 1971.
The Consul General also conveyed her gratitude to Mayor Mike Hurley of the City of Burnaby and the City Councillors headed by Ms. Maita Santiago for their continued support of the Filipino-Canadian community and for hosting the festival at Swangard Stadium.
She likewise encouraged Filipino-Canadian youth to participate in Canada YouLeaD 2026 Program, a cultural immersion program scheduled from 11 to 17 August 2026 in Metro Manila and Batangas.
The 4th Annual Pinoy Festival features a wide array of activities that showcase the richness of Filipino culture and heritage, including:
- Filipino food booths featuring traditional and contemporary Filipino cuisine;
- Cultural performances highlighting Filipino music, dance, and artistry;
- Pinoy Festival concerts featuring Filipino and Filipino-Canadian performers;
- The Grand Tiangge sa Swangard, offering Filipino products and crafts.
