01 December 2022 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver successfully hosted the launch of “Fantasea” Art exhibit by Danvic Briones on 29 November 2022.  The artworks included in the exhibit are featured in Danvic’s new children’s book entitled, “Jesse the Dragosaur.”

Deputy Consul General Arlene Magno, in her remarks, highlighted Danvic’s talent and conveyed that this exhibit underlines the ingenuity and creativity of the Filipino diaspora in Canada.  She assured the community that the Consulate will continue to provide Filipino artists an opportunity to make their works known to the Filipino-Canadian community and to a wider Canadian audience.

Danvic Briones is a Filipino-Canadian expressive arts therapist, educator, innovator and a virtual artist based in British Columbia.  His experience in working with vulnerable youth inspired him to write and illustrate a book to encourage kids to hold their heads up and believe in themselves.

The Fantasea Art Exhibit is open to the public and will run through 31 December 2022. END
