Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver Graces Filipino Community Event Honoring San Lorenzo Ruiz

The Holy Trinity Parish community in North Vancouver, led by its Reverend Pastor Fr. Lucio Choi and Mr. Nathanael de Grano, organized its 16th Annual Dinner and Dance Fiesta to celebrate the feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz, the first Filipino saint, at the Parish Hall on 27 September 2025.

Deputy Consul General Paul Vincent Uy represented the Philippine Consulate General at the event, where he encouraged the members of the Filipino community to emulate the sacrifice of San Lorenzo Ruiz by sharing their time, treasure and talent for a higher cause, such as contributing to the continued growth and prosperity of the Philippines. Deputy Consul General Uy also invited the community to join the Winter Escapade 10, which is organized annually by the Philippine Foreign Service Posts in Canada and whose itinerary in February 2026 includes Dumaguete, Siquijor and Bicol. He also encouraged them to register for the Philippine Overseas Voting at the Consulate beginning December 2025 till September 2027 for them to be able to cast their votes at the next Philippine national elections in 2028.

The festive event had a lively assortment of entertainment such as chorale songs, group dances, saxophone performance, and the upbeat music in the dance floor. The guests also enjoyed the sumptuous buffet of Filipino cuisine which included lechon, beef tapa, pancit, fried chicken, etc.  END
