Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver Co-Hosts Networking Night for Gaming Professionals from the Philippines and Canada

05 September 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver co-hosted with the Philippine Trade and Investment Centre (PTIC)-Silicon Valley a networking activity for creative professionals from the Philippines and Vancouver, on the occasion of the Philippines’ participation in the External Development Summit (XDS) 2023.  The networking activity was attended by officials from the Department of Trade and Industry, led by Undersecretary Rafaelita Aldaba, members of the Game Developers Association of the Philippines or GDAP, and the creatives community in Vancouver.

In her remarks, Consul General Magno said that the vast pool of young talent the Philippines has and the institutional supports now in place allow it to compete in attracting investment opportunities in digital interactive media, and other sectors in the creative ecosystem. She encouraged guests to network and explore creative ways of collaborating between the Philippines and Canada. Undersecretary Aldaba presented on the strengths of the Philippine creative industries and the Philippines as an attractive investment destination. END
