18 May 2022 – In celebration of the National Heritage Month, the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver organized an Artist Talk by Lenore RS Lim at the Consulate lobby on 13 May 2022.
The Philippines celebrates its National Heritage Month in May with the theme “PAMANANG LOKAL: Binhi ng Kulturang Pilipino.”
Lenore Lim is an acclaimed Filipina visual artist currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia. After graduating Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines, Lim taught Arts at the Assumptions Convent and at the International School Manila.
During the Artist Talk, Lim shared that she chose printmaking as her primary medium because it offers her a wide range of processes which she can use to realize her artistic vision. Printmaking is a technique that permits multiple editions of a painting, drawing or collage—substitutions for the original.
Lim works with a variety of printmaking methods, including lithography, serigraphy, and etching, to produce representative and abstract works with references to nature and traditional Philippine decorative arts.
Lim had her solo exhibitions in the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Italy, Austria, Jordan Berlin and the UAE. One of her works is included in the U.S. Library of Congress and the private collection of Agnes Gund, Chairman and President Emerita of The Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan. More information on Lim’s works and upcoming events may be accessed through her website, www.lenorelim.com. END
