VANCOUVER, BC – Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin welcomed executives from Philippine Airlines (PAL) Cargo for a courtesy call at the Philippine Consulate General on April 17, 2026, to discuss enhanced cooperation in cargo logistics and welfare services for the Filipino community in British Columbia, the Yukon and Northwest Territories.

Ms. Cherry Lee Castillo, PAL Assistant Vice President for Cargo Sales, and Ms. Catherine L. Guino, Cargo Officer for North America, met with Consul General Jamoralin to explore ways to streamline the transport of essential goods and provide compassionate assistance during times of bereavement.

A primary focus of the discussion was the repatriation of remains and cremains. Recognizing the emotional and financial burden on families, PAL Cargo expressed its commitment to providing efficient logistical support and exploring discounted rates for the transport of deceased Filipino nationals back to the Philippines.

We also look forward to PAL's support in bringing Filipino culture closer to Canada through the seamless transport of our cultural and promotional materials."

The meeting also addressed the logistical requirements for the Consulate’s various programs, including the shipment of materials for cultural festivals, tourism promotion, and consular outreach missions.

Both the Consulate General and Philippine Airlines reaffirmed their shared dedication to the welfare of Filipinos in Canada, promising a more integrated approach to air freight and repatriation services moving forward. END
