One of the Consulate’s booths highlighted beautifully handcrafted Philippine bags and bottles of different flavors of vinegar from Governor Sharee Ann Tan Delos Santos of the province of Samar, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship and artistry of Filipino artisans. The exhibit provided visitors with an opportunity to appreciate locally made products that reflect the country's rich cultural heritage while supporting livelihood initiatives in the region.
Another booth promoted the upcoming project, Winter Escapade 2027, one of the Consulate’s flagship tourism and cultural programs. Festival-goers received colorful flyers and learned about the exciting travel opportunities and cultural experiences that await participants during the annual event.
Through its participation in Pista ng Bayan, the Philippine Consulate General reaffirmed its commitment to fostering active civic engagement among overseas Filipinos. The Consulate conducted voter registration for eligible overseas Filipinos in preparation for the 2028 Philippine National Elections. Visitors also made some inquiries at the Social Security System (SSS) booth.
In her remarks, Consul General Jamoralin commended the United Filipino Canadian Associations in British Columbia (UFC-ABC) led by former President Arcie Lim, current President Joel Castillo and Program Director Clifford Belgica for their continued leadership in bringing the community together through cultural initiatives.
Consul General Jamoralin also congratulated the Vancouver City Council led by Mayor Ken Sim and Councillor Lenny Zhou for passing the resolution on 29 July 2026 to establish a temporary Filipino Cultural Centre at the Vancouver Public Library.
The Consul General likewise reflected on the successful official visit of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos to Canada from 1 to 4 July 2026. She said the visit reaffirmed the Philippine Government's recognition of the important role played by the Filipino diaspora in Canada and further strengthened the growing bilateral relationship between the Philippines and Canada.
