Philippine Consul General Magno Attends the Installation of the Knights of Rizal (KOR) Vancouver Chapter

08 September 2023, Vancouver – Philippine Consul General Arlene T. Magno witnessed the installation of the new members of the Knights of Rizal (KOR) and the creation of the KOR Vancouver Chapter, led by its Knight Grand Cross of Rizal (KGCR) Supreme Commander Gerardo V. Calderon, on 08 September 2023, during a ceremony held at the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver.

The event was facilitated by Knight Grand Officer of Rizal (KGOR) Joel Tuplano, who gave a briefing on the mission of the KOR. Supreme Commander Calderon welcomed the incoming members to the organization. He also presented Consul General Magno with a small plaque of Dr. Jose Rizal as a token of appreciation.  Mr. Jay Michael Tolentino of the Philippine Consulate was promoted to the rank of Knight Commander of Rizal (KCR) making him the Head of the Vancouver Chapter.

The "Order of theKnights of Rizal" wasestablished in 1911 by Colonel Antonio C. Torres, who later served as the first Filipino chief of police of Manila. END
