VANCOUVER, BC 10 June 2025 – Philippine Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin, accompanied by Consul Analyn D. Ratonel, visited the University Canada West (UCW) on 03 June 2025, upon the University’s invitation, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic and institutional ties between the Philippines and Canada.
Consul General Jamoralin was warmly received by UCW President Dr. Bashir Makhoul and Vice-President of Strategic Development Komil Mamajanov. During a brief discussion, both parties expressed keen interest in building stronger educational partnerships and exploring future avenues for collaboration in support of Philippine-Canadian academic exchange.
Following the meeting, members of UCW’s faculty introduced the University’s programs and shared insights into their innovative approaches to higher education. They also engaged the Philippine delegation in a productive exchange of ideas aimed at fostering student mobility, joint research, and capacity-building initiatives. The visit concluded with a guided tour of UCW’s modern facilities.
Consul General Jamoralin thanked the UCW leadership and faculty for their warm hospitality and conveyed optimism for future cooperation that would benefit both Philippine and Canadian academic communities. END
