Vancouver, BC 14 October 2025 - Philippine Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin joined the United Architects of the Philippines in British Columbia (UAP-BC) in celebrating its 14th Anniversary and Induction of Officers on 11 October 2025 in Surrey, British Columbia.
In her remarks, Consul General Jamoralin commended the organization for providing a platform for Filipino architects in Canada to collaborate, exchange expertise, and give back to the community.
Consul General Jamoralin also took the opportunity to inform attendees that the Philippines is set to assume the Chairship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2026. She also underscored the relevance of ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on Architectural Services signed in November 2007, which enables Filipino architects to practice across ASEAN member states. Consul General Jamoralin also invited guests to join the Winter Escapade 10 scheduled on 1-10 February 2026 in Manila, Siquijor, Dumaguete and Bicol and highlighted the opportunity to reconnect with family roots, explore the beauty of the Philippines and celebrate the warmth of Filipino hospitality. Lastly, she encouraged all Filipino citizens and dual citizens in Canada to register as overseas voters for the upcoming 2028 Philippine National Elections beginning 01 December 2025 until 30 September 2027.
The event featured the formal induction of UAP-BC’s new set of officers, recognition of outgoing leaders, and fellowship among members and guests. The event was attended by its members from Canada and delegation from the Philippines headed the UAP National President, Architect Jonathan Manalad. END
