PH Consul General Hosts Welcome Lunch for New Malaysian Consul General to Vancouver

VANCOUVER 30 January 2026 - Philippine Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin hosted a welcome lunch for Malaysia’s new Consul General, Ahmad Shazril Suhaimi, on 28 January 2026 at HALINÁ Modern Filipino Kitchen + Bar.

Consul General Suhaimi was posted in Argentina and Sudan before his assignment in Canada. He succeeds Consul General Mohd Afandi bin Abu Bakar who served in Vancouver from 23 February 2023 until the end of his tour of duty in September 2025.

During the lunch, members of the ASEAN Consuls General in Vancouver (ACGV) enjoyed a selection of classic Filipino dishes presented with a modern twist. The gathering provided an opportunity to strengthen regional ties, welcome the new Malaysian Consul General, and highlight Filipino culinary culture. END
