Honorable Premier David Eby Signs the Book of Condolence at the Philippine Consulate General

(top) Honorable Premier David Eby signs the Book of Condolence at the Consulate on Friday, 02 May 2025, the day he declared as the Provincial Day of Remembrance and Mourning for the Victims of the Lapu-Lapu incident.

02 May 2025, Vancouver. Consul General Gina Jamoralin welcomed Honorable Premier David Eby during his visit to the Consulate to sign the Book of Condolence for the victims of the Lapu-Lapu Block Party incident on 26 April 2025.

In his very personal message, he reiterated his heartfelt condolence and support to the families of the victims and the whole Filipino community.  He also thanked the Filipino community for building a strong foundation that the BC community had come to rely on. He promised to celebrate with the community after getting through this very difficult time.

In return, the Consul General expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Premier for the immediate response of the first responders - paramedics, police and fire teams at the site of the incident on Saturday evening. The Consul General likewise expressed her deep appreciation to the BC frontline health workers who went above and beyond to help the victims as they were brought to the different hospitals around Metro Vancouver.

The Premier declared 02 May 2025 as a Provincial Day of Remembrance and Mourning for the Victims of the Lapu-Lapu incident. END
