Filipino Community in Victoria, BC Celebrates Filipino Heritage Month

18 June 2025, VICTORIA, BC. – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, represented by Consul Analyn Ratonel, participated in the “Mabuhay! Celebrating Philippine Culture” event held at the Centennial Square in Victoria, British Columbia on Saturday, 14 June 2025.
The two-day event, organized by Victoria Filipino Canadian Association (VFCA), Bayanihan Cultural and Housing Society (BCHS), Victoria Filipino Canadian Caregivers Association (VFCCA) and Victoria Filipino Canadian Seniors Association (VFCSA), is an annual celebration of Philippine Independence Day and Filipino Heritage Month in Canada by the Filipino community in Victoria.
Consul Ratonel read the Independence Day message of the Consul General. She was joined on stage by Victoria Mayor Marianne Alto, Member of Parliament (MP) Will Greaves, Minister Ravi Parmar, MLA Nina Krieger, Mayor Dean Murdock of the District of Saanich, Victoria Police Department Chief Del Manak and other officials and partners of the community.
The event featured booths with Philippine crafts, products, and food as well as cultural performances by various local artists and members of the Filipino community organizations. END
