15 May 205 – Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin was warmly received by Filipino community leaders at the Philippine Bayanihan Community Centre in Victoria on 15 May 2025 in a continuing effort to strengthen ties with the Filipino-Canadian community and support initiatives that promote and elevate the profile of Filipinos in British Columbia.
The Philippine Bayanihan Community Centre is a long-standing pillar of Filipino cultural, educational and civic engagement in Victoria. It is operated by the Bayanihan Cultural Housing Society (BCHS) and home of the Victoria Filipino Canadian Association (VFCA), Victoria Filipino Canadian Caregivers Association (VFCCA), and Victoria Filipino Canadian Seniors Association (VFCSA).
During the visit, the Consul General was briefed on the centre’s current programs and cultural initiatives. Valuable insight were also shared by the group into the centre’s establishment, including details on its funding and the support extended by the government of the City of Victoria and the province of British Columbia. Consul General Jamoralin expressed deep appreciation for the community’s continued solidarity and resilience.
This visit reaffirmed the Consul General’s dedication to strengthening collaboration with the Filipino community in BC.END
