16 SEPTEMBER 2025, VANCOUVER, B.C. Last 12 September 2025, Philippine Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin, together with the ASEAN Consuls General in Vancouver (ACGV), bid farewell to Consul General Mohd Afandi bin Abu Bakar of Malaysia, current chair ACGV, and Consul General Thanapol Wang-om-klang of Thailand as they conclude their respective tours of duty in Vancouver.
At the conclusion of the ACGV’s third meeting for 2025, the outgoing Consuls General thanked the group for their support and cooperation during their respective tenures in Vancouver.
Consul General Jamoralin, as the incoming chairperson of the ACGV in January to June 2026, expressed the group’s gratitude and well-wishes to Consul General Abu Bakar for his leadership during Malaysia’s chairmanship from June to December 2025.
Established in 1967, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was formed with the aim of strengthening regional peace, accelerating socio-economic development, and promoting cultural flourishing in the region. ASEAN is an important platform for its ten (10) member states to collaborate on issues of mutual interest and foster close cooperation with existing international organizations. END
