UPDATE onthe Exemption of Foreign Spouses, Children and Parents of Filipino Nationals from the Temporary Suspension of Visa Issuance

The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver informsthe publicthat effective immediatelyand consistent with the rationale of the Inter-agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) resolution, entry into the Philippines of the following foreign nationals is for the purpose of family reunification:

  1. Foreign spouses of Filipino nationals;
  2. Foreign minor children, and foreign children with special needs regardless of age, of Filipino nationals; and,
  3. Foreign parents of minor Filipino children and of Filipino children with special needs regardless of age.

In this regard, before any visa issuance, the Philippine Consulate General shall require additional documents to establish that the Filipino spouses, parents, and/or child/children of said foreign nationals are currently in the Philippines or will be travelling with the latter,such as, but not limited to airline tickets, enrollment records, immigration arrival stamps, and/or affidavits or certifications signed by local government officials where they reside.
