Representing Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin and the Consulate General, Consul André Peter C. Estanislao delivered remarks commending Filipino Legacy Society headed by Chairperson singer-songwriter Warren Dean Flandez for sponsoring the event and keeping Filipino culture vibrant across British Columbia. Celebrating the show’s unique blend of horror, comedy, and healthcare as a testament to Filipino artistic ingenuity, Consul Estanislao framed the evening as a poignant tribute to Filipino healthcare workers who form a crucial backbone of care across Canada and B.C.
Key members of the series' creative leadership were present for the event, including creator, showrunner, and director Mark Labella; director Drea Castro; and producer Marvin Aritrangco. Labella addressed the audience to share the inspiration behind blending supernatural folklore with workplace realities in a hospital setting, expressing gratitude to the FLS and community supporters for bringing the audience together. Flandez also addressed attendees on behalf of the Filipino Legacy Society, reaffirming FLS’s ongoing mission to build strong cultural foundations, uplift local talent, and honor frontline healthcare workers.
The screening concluded with a warm community reception co-hosted by local favorites Diwa Coffee and Goldilocks, offering attendees traditional hospitality and an opportunity to engage with the filmmakers, organizers, and Consulate representatives.
