NORTH VANCOUVER, BC, 07 OCTOBER 2026 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver joined the vibrant Filipino-Canadian community of North Vancouver in celebrating the 17th Annual Dinner and Dance Fiesta in honor of the Feast of St. Lorenzo Ruiz, held on Saturday, 3 October 2026, at the Holy Trinity Parish.
Representing Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin, Consul André Peter C. Estanislao attended as the guest speaker. In his remarks, Consul Estanislao congratulated the organizers and parishioners on reaching 17 years of hosting this cherished tradition. He expressed appreciation to Head Pastor Fr. Lucio Choi, Committee Chair Nathanael de Grano, Committee Secretary Fernie Fernandez Benko, and the hardworking organizers for their dedication in bringing the community together to celebrate faith and heritage.
Consul Estanislao reflected on the life and enduring legacy of St. Lorenzo Ruiz, the first Filipino saint, highlighting his unwavering faith and courage in the face of adversity. He cited St. Lorenzo Ruiz’s famous declaration of martyrdom—“If I had a thousand lives, I would give them all to the Lord”—as an inspiration for all Filipinos to remain steadfast in their values, community spirit, and service to others.
The fiesta featured a rich cultural program, beginning with a solemn processional hymn by the Pinoy Mass Choir, followed by vibrant live performances including traditional folk dances by the Liwayway Dance Troupe, energetic social dancing led by Dance Instructor Gemma Monzales, live band performances, and interactive community activities. Attendees also enjoyed authentic Filipino cuisine, making the evening a memorable showcase of Filipino culture and camaraderie.
