VANCOUVER 04 September 2026 - Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin attended the oath taking ceremony of the officials and members of the newly established Yukon Filipino-Canadian Council (YFCC) on 29 August 2026 in Whitehorse, YT. The Consul General was joined by Senator Patricia Duncan, Yukon’s representative to Canadian Parliament, Premier Currie Dixon, Speaker Yvonne Clarke of Yukon Parliament, and MLA Carmen Gustafson, who represented MLA Kate White, in witnessing the formal establishment of the Yukon Filipino-Canadian Council (YFCC), a community based organization committed to strengthening connection, cultural pride, and service among Filipino Canadians in the territory. During the ceremony, Senator Duncan administered the oath of office to YFCC’s eleven (11) board members, while the Consul General administered the membership oath to ninety-two members, marking a significant moment of unity and shared purpose for the growing Filipino community in Yukon.
The Consulate expressed hope for deeper cooperation with YFCC and with Yukon’s leadership to advance initiatives that benefit Filipino Canadians and contribute to a stronger, more connected territory. The Consul General announced the upcoming consular outreach mission in Whitehorse on October 2-3, 2026, to be organized by the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver.END
