CONSUL GENERAL GINA A. JAMORALIN JOINS SUMMER OPEN HOUSE AND GRAND OPENING OF MLA PAUL CHOI’S CONSTITUENCY OFFICE

Burnaby, BC, 14 August 2026 — Philippine Consul General in Vancouver Gina A. Jamoralin joined community leaders, elected officials, and residents at the Summer Open House and Grand Opening of the constituency office of the Hon. Paul Choi, Parliamentary Secretary for Trade and Member of the Legislative Assembly for Burnaby South-Metrotown at 5234 Rumble Street, Burnaby, BC on 08 August 2026.

The event brought together members of the community and local representatives to celebrate the opening of MLA Choi’s new constituency office and to highlight its role in serving residents of Burnaby South-Metrotown. The Summer Open House, held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., provided residents and community partners with an opportunity to meet MLA Choi and his team, learn more about the services of the constituency office, and connect with members of the local community.

Consul General Jamoralin congratulated MLA Choi on the opening of his constituency office and welcomed the opportunity to engage with him and other community leaders. Her participation reflects the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver’s continuing engagement with elected officials and community partners in British Columbia, particularly in strengthening relationships that contribute to the well-being and interests of the Filipino-Canadian community.

The event was also attended by distinguished federal, provincial, and municipal officials, including Wade Chang, Member of Parliament for Burnaby Central; The Honourable Raj Chouhan, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia and Member of the Legislative Assembly for Burnaby-New Westminster; The Honourable Anne Kang, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport and Member of the Legislative Assembly for Burnaby Centre; The Honourable Janet Routledge, Member of Legislative Assembly for Burnaby North and Official Government Whip; Mayor Mike Hurley of Burnaby;Councillor Maita Santiago; Councillor Daniel Tetrault of the City of Burnaby; and The Honourable Peter Julian, former Member of Canadian Parliament;

Members of the Consular Corps in Vancouver also participated in the event, including representatives from Afghanistan, Indonesia, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, as well as the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vancouver. Their participation underscored the diverse and inclusive nature of the community gathering and provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships among elected officials, members of the diplomatic and consular community, and local stakeholders.

The new office will serve as a local point of contact for residents of Burnaby South-Metrotown, providing constituents with an avenue to raise community concerns, seek assistance on provincial matters, and engage with their elected representative.

Consul General Jamoralin’s participation underscores the Philippine Consulate General’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with provincial and local officials and fostering constructive partnerships with communities across British Columbia. END
