Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver Conducts Third Consular Outreach Mission for 2026 in Kelowna, BC
04 JUNE 2025, KELOWNA, BC. The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver conducted its third consular outreach mission for this year last 30-31 May 2026 in Kelowna, BC at Royal Anne Hotel in downtown Kelowna. The outreach team was assisted by volunteers from Okanagan Filipino Canadian Society based in the same city.
PCG Vancouver’s One Country Team was led by Vice Consul Marco Harder and was joined by Ms. Carlota Halili-Castaneda, Ms. Marilou Barrion, Ms. Irene Pilar Mendoza, Mr. Arnel Anacion, and Mr. Kervin Mon Perez to deliver core consular services such as passport applications, notarization of documents, and processing civil registration documents. Ms. Anne Jelyka Gubat of Migrant Migrant Workers Office (MWO) - Vancouver, OWWA Welfare Officer Allan Ignacio and Mr. Roderick Arbitrario, and Mr. Darwin Soria rendered their respective agencies’ services as well as address queries from clients present at the outreach mission. Facilities for registering as an overseas voter were also made available by the team in order to provide eligible Filipinos in the Okanagan region to register in time for the 2028 elections.
All in all, the outreach mission rendered 232 consular and other services. The outreach mission was also able to register 40 overseas voters during the same weekend. In addition, an information session on the Philippine government’s reintegration programs was also conducted by the consular outreach mission team to provide integration to twenty-four (24) temporary foreign workers based in the Okanagan region.
Vice Consul Marco Harder also took the opportunity to meet with Nicole Rustad, Chief of Staff of MP Stephen Fuhr (Kelowna), on Monday 01 June to discuss issues and topics directly affecting Filipino migrant workers in the Okanagan region.
The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver has consular jurisdiction in British Columbia, Yukon, and Northwest Territories. Due to the geographical spread of overseas Filipinos across these three provinces and territories, the Consulate regularly mounts consular outreach missions in these areas to make consular services more accessible to clients outside the Greater Vancouver area.
