Vancouver, BC, 24 February 2026 - The first meeting of the ASEAN Consuls General in Vancouver under the Philippine Chairmanship from January to June 2026 was successfully convened by Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin at the Philippine Consulate General - Migrant Workers Office in Vancouver on 24 February 2026.
The meeting brought together representatives from the five ASEAN Consulates General in Vancouver, including Vietnam’s Consul General Phan Kieu Thu; Indonesia’s Consul General Nina Kurnia Widhi; Malaysia Consul General Ahmad Shazril Suhaimi; and Thailand’s Acting Consul General Jumpoth Chawang. The Consuls General were also joined by the Working Group Members from each ASEAN Consulate General.
Philippine Consul General Jamoralin, as Chair of ACGV, welcomed all Consuls General and working group representatives. The meeting reviewed and approved the minutes from the previous meeting under Malaysia’s 2025 chairmanship, while Indonesia, as ACGV Treasurer, provided the financial report.
Under the Philippine Chairmanship, the meeting exchanged ideas, explored collaborative opportunities, and reached consensus on initiatives aimed at strengthening regional cooperation, and supporting ASEAN communities in British Columbia. END
