16 August 2023, Vancouver - The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver and the Philippine Department of Tourism – San Francisco successfully launched the 8th Winter Escapade at the Consulate lobby on 14 August 2023.
The Winter Escapade is a tourism promotion program of all Philippine Foreign Service Posts in Canada designed for Filipinos and mainstream Canadians to travel to the Philippines and discover new attractions and destinations in the country. This year’s Winter Escapade will take visitors to Manila, Iloilo, Cebu, and Bohol from 18 to 27 February 2024.
Consul General Arlene T. Magno, in her welcome remarks, said that this Winter Escapade is not just a tour but also a journey that promises to take visitors on a memorable exploration of the Philippines' rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and vibrant city life.
Philippine Tourism Director Soleil Tropicales then presented the itinerary involving ecotourism adventures, cultural heritage and gastronomic treats, as well as additional recreational options, such as diving and shopping, among other activities. Ms. Aileen Gabat of the Philippine Airlines announced the discounted airfare rates exclusively for the Escapade participants.
Rajah Tours President Mr. Jojo Clemente, the ground tour operator in the Philippines, responded to inquiries during the launch. Meanwhile, Filcom member Mr. Arnedo Lucas, who personally experienced the previous Winter Escapade, gave a captivating testimony for the program.
