Vancouver PCG Holds Despedida for Outgoing Finance Officer and Welcomes New Personnel
The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver held a simple despedida ceremony in honor of Ms. Irene Pilar T. Mendoza, outgoing Finance Officer, in recognition of her six years of dedicated service to the Consulate from 21 July 2020 to 20 July 2026. During the gathering, colleagues expressed their appreciation for her professionalism, commitment, and valuable contributions to the efficient management of the Consulate's financial operations and wished her continued success in her future endeavors.

The Consulate likewise warmly welcomed Ms. Dorotea B. Apostol, who officially assumed her duties as the new Finance Officer on 6 July 2026. Ms. Apostol earned her Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Major in Accounting, from Divine Word University in Tacloban City in 1985. She joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in July 1990 and has served in various Philippine Foreign Service Posts, in Amman, Beirut and Chongqing.

The Consulate also welcomed Ms. Margarette Dorothy Serrano, who joined the Social Security System (SSS) as its new local hire in Vancouver effective 22 July 2026. Ms. Serrano graduated from St. Paul University Quezon City with a Bachelor of Science in Tourism in 2011. Prior to joining the SSS, she worked as a Home Child Care Provider from 2022 to 2025.

The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver extends its sincere gratitude to Ms. Mendoza for her dedicated service and warmly welcomes Ms. Apostol and Ms. Serrano as they begin their respective roles in serving the Filipino community in British Columbia, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon.
