The Philippines Successfully Chairs the 2023 ASEAN Golf Tournament in Vancouver

18 August 2023, Vancouver. To commemorate the 56th Founding Anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the ASEAN Consulates General in Vancouver (ACGV) successfully hosted the 2023 ASEAN Golf Tournament on 11 August 2023 at the UBC Golf Club.

The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, led by Consul General Arlene T. Magno, chaired this year’s ASEAN Golf Tournament.  The event brought together 143 golfers from the ASEAN community and beyond.

Following the tournament, a dinner was held which was attended by over 200 guests, including representatives from the business community, partners and government officials.

During the program, Consul General Magno, said that this ASEAN Charity Golf Tournament is a great way to celebrate the ASEAN Day as well as raise funds for a good cause.   She thanked the sponsors, participants and partners for their unwavering support, which has made the event a resounding success.

Meanwhile, Minister Anne Kang, in her remarks, congratulated the ASEAN Consulates General for organizing a meaningful and fun event. Trophies were awarded by Minister Bruce Ralston to the winners.

A cheque in the amount of $5,000 was then presented to the Battered Women Support Society (BWSS), represented by Ms. Samantha Kearney.  The ASEAN Charity Golf Tournament in Vancouver is an annual event that has raised more than C$250,000 for various causes to date.  END
