Philippine Consulate in Vancouver Joins UFCABC’s Philippine Heritage Dinner

RICHMOND, BC, 08 June 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, led by Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin, joined members of the Filipino-Canadian community at the Philippine Heritage Dinner organized by the United Filipino Canadian Associations in British Columbia (UFCABC) on 07 June 2025 in Richmond, British Columbia.

The event was part of the celebrations for Filipino Heritage Month in Canada and was attended by dignitaries and community leaders, including Mayor Malcolm Brodie of the City of Richmond, who expressed his appreciation for the valuable contributions of the Filipino community to the city’s multicultural fabric.

A poignant moment in the program was the short memorial in remembrance of the victims of the Lapu-Lapu Block Party tragedy, which included a heartfelt recital of a poem honoring the memory of those lost.

Consul General Jamoralin, in her remarks, congratulated UFCABC on its 10th Anniversary and for extending assistance to the families of the victims and helping bring the community together during a time of grief.  She also shared the ongoing efforts of the Consulate to bring public service closer to kababayan across the region. Consul General Jamoralin highlighted the Consulate’s recent outreach missions to other areas in BC and Yukon Territory, and announced upcoming missions in the coming months as well as the forthcoming Post-Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS). As she closed her remarks, the Consul General called for continued unity, compassion, and community engagement.

The dinner also showcased vibrant Filipino cultural performances, highlighting the rich traditions and artistic talent of the community.

The Philippine Heritage Dinner is one of several events held in celebration of Filipino Heritage Month, which honors the growing contributions and presence of Filipinos across Canada. END
