Philippine Consulate in Vancouver Hosts “Human Nature” Art Exhibit by Filipino-Canadian Artist Chito Maravilla

22 January 2024, Vancouver –  The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver formally opened "Human Nature" exhibit by Filipino-Canadian artist, Mr. Chito Maravilla, on            19 January 2024. The exhibit featured works with vivid colors, intricate details, and thought-provoking concepts that define human nature.

In her opening remarks, Philippine Consul General Arlene T.  Magno emphasized the significance of the exhibit in bridging cultural gaps and fostering a deeper understanding of the shared narratives that connect the Filipino-Canadian diaspora.

Following the Consul General's address,  Mr. Maravilla took the stage, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to showcase "Human Nature" at the Consulate. He provided insights into the inspiration behind

his collection, inviting attendees to join him on a visual journey exploring the complexities and beauty of the human experience.

The exhibit received a warm reception from art enthusiasts, local media and members of the Filipino community present at the opening, who lauded the Consulate for highlighting the talent and creativity of Filipino artists.  The evening concluded with a reception featuring refreshments, providing an opportunity for guests to engage in conversations with the artist and fellow guests.

"Human Nature" exhibit will remain open to the public until 12 April 2024. END
