PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL VISITS FILIPINO SEAFARERS

31 December 2020 – The Assistance-to-Nationals team from the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, composed of personnel from the ATN Section and POLO/OWWA Vancouver, visited three Filipino seafarers in their nursing home in Delta, British Columbia, where they are recovering from injuries sustained from an accident while on duty. The seafarers, namely, Ronito Nastor, Jeffrey Guillermo and Daniel Sagamal, are currently awaiting repatriation to the Philippines.

During the visit, the team inquired on the concerns of the seafarers, briefed them on the status of their repatriation and the Consulate’s coordination with their local manning agency in the Philippines and the shipowner representative in Vancouver, and distributed care packages.  END
