VANCOUVER, BC — Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin joined the Circulo Pampangueño Association of British Columbia (CPABC) as Guest Speaker as it celebrated its 41st Anniversary Gala Night on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Holiday Inn West Broadway in Vancouver. The event brought together local Canadian government officials, consular dignitaries, community leaders, and members of the vibrant Filipino-Canadian community for an evening dedicated to culture, unity, and charitable advocacy.

Founded in 1985, CPABC has spent over four decades driving impactful philanthropic initiatives, including disaster relief efforts in the Philippines, supporting local church construction, and funding educational scholarships for impoverished yet deserving students in Pampanga and Tarlac.

Distinguished guests in attendance included City of Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Mable Elmore (Vancouver-Kensington), alongside prominent Filipino community leaders from across Metro Vancouver.

In her keynote address, Philippine Consul General Dr. Gina A. Jamoralin commended CPABC President Edith Montemayor and the organization’s executive board for their enduring commitment to bayanihan and youth education. Consul General Jamoralin called on Filipinos to actively participate in the upcoming municipal and provincial elections in British Columbia and to go out and vote so the voice of the Filipino community is heard. Likewise, Consul General Jamoralin also exhorted Filipinos to register as overseas voters for the upcoming 2028 national elections. Furthermore, she urged citizens to register for Overseas Voting ahead of the September 2027 deadline for the May 2028 elections, highlighting special Saturday registration sessions at the Consulate on October 31, November 28, and December 19, 2026.

Consul General Jamoralin also invited the community to actively engage with the ongoing programs and services of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver. She encouraged eligible Filipino-Canadians to re-acquire or retain their Filipino citizenship under Republic Act 9225 to enjoy full economic, political, and civil rights in the homeland. She also announced upcoming consular outreach missions to Yellowknife, NWT on October 10–11 and Prince George, BC on November 21, 2026, while inviting community members and their families to participate in Winter Escapade 2027—the premier tour showcasing Philippine culture, regional tourism, and economic opportunities back home.

In their respective remarks, Mayor Ken Sim and MLA Mable Elmore praised Circulo Pampangueño for its 41 years of dedicated service and meaningful contributions to the cultural tapestry of British Columbia. Mayor Sim highlighted the vital role of the Filipino community in enriching Vancouver's diversity and economic vibrancy, while MLA Elmore commended the association's enduring commitment to philanthropy and grassroots community empowerment both locally and in the Philippines.

The evening highlighted CPABC’s ongoing commitment to its scholarship program, continuing the organization’s long-standing legacy of empowering youth and serving communities both in Canada and the Philippines.
