05 October 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, hosted the second of a two-part webinar series on franchising, in partnership with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Silicon Valley, which covers Western Canada, and the Philippine Franchise Association, on 28 September. Entitled, “Finding the Right Franchise”, the webinar featured the following seven brands in the Philippines looking to further grow their businesses through franchising - the Kurimi Milk Tea Bar, the Shawarma Shack, Oryspa, Cycle House, LT & G Credit Line, Potato Corner, and Bang Bang Special Crispy Bangus. The webinar aimed to educate overseas Filipinos on the advantages of franchising and what to look for when choosing a brand to franchise.
In her welcome remarks, Philippine Ambassador to Canada, H.E. Maria Andrelita S. Austria, cited the emergence of non-food and non-American brands in the Philippines, indicating that the franchising industry in the Philippines has matured beyond the traditional products and is ready to explore the global market. Ms. Annie Rosario, Strategic Planning Consultant from Francorp Philippines, was the main presenter at the webinar. She spoke on franchising in general, its advantages and challenges, and provided tips on how to become a successful franchisee. Each brand representative had the chance to talk about their business model and their support package for franchisees, including the cost of investment. At the end of the webinar, Consul General Arlene T. Magno thanked the participants for their attendance and encouraged them to invest in the Philippines through franchising. END
