17 August 2025. To show support for the Filipino community in Canada’s northwest territories, Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, along with the members of the PCG Vancouver team, conducted its consular outreach mission in Yellowknife, Norwest Territory on 16 – 17 August 2025.
Consul General Jamoralin met with Ms. Lea Barbosa-Leclerc and Mr. Narlie Dapilos, the past and present Presidents, respectively, together with other officers of the Philippine Cultural Association of Yellowknife (PCAY). She highlighted that the visit is to provide essential consular services to Filipinos residing in Yellowknife and nearby towns in the northwest part of Canada. As part of the mission, PCG team held consultations, facilitated passport and civil registry services and oath-taking for returning Filipinos under RA 9225.
Consul General Jamoralin reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to serving Filipinos across British Columbia, Yukon and Northwest territories.
In addition, the team promoted the Consulate’s Emergency Response Mapping Registry (VERMAP, an initiative designed to enhance the Consulate’s ability to reach Filipinos residing in its jurisdiction during times of crisis or distress. Furthermore, the Consul General also discussed its consular and ATN services, as well as the ongoing programs of the Consulate and the Philippine government that are relevant to overseas Filipinos.
