SURREY, 13 March 2025 – Philippine Consul General Dr. Gina A. Jamoralin paid a courtesy call on Mayor Brenda Locke of Surrey to discuss key areas of collaboration, including the contributions of the Filipino community, cultural and economic initiatives, and potential partnerships.
During the meeting, Mayor Locke acknowledged the Filipino community’s role in enriching Surrey’s cultural landscape and recalled the success of the annual Fiesta Extravaganza held at the City Hall.
The discussion extended to economic matters, including trade and business opportunities, as well as the potential impact of international trade policies. Both sides emphasized the importance of market diversification and supporting small and medium enterprises.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong relationship between the Philippine Consulate and the City of Surrey, with both parties looking forward to further collaboration to benefit the Filipino community and the broader Surrey population. END
