Philippine and Guatemalan Consuls General Discuss Collaborative Information Session for Migrant Workers in British Columbia

29 July 2026, Vancouver, Canada – Philippine Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin met with Guatemala Consul General Mynor Joel Aguirre Medina to plan a joint activity aimed at supporting Filipino and Guatemalan migrant workers in British Columbia.

The planned event in October 2026 is targeting to provide information to temporary foreign workers, particularly in the agriculture sector, on the labor standards, employment rights and responsibilities, as well as recent immigration updates relevant to their employment and stay in British Columbia.

The collaboration reflects the shared and continuing commitment of both the Philippines and Guatemala Consulates in strengthening its migration governance systems as well as in promoting the welfare of their respective migrant worker communities.
