PH Delegation to Vancouver Web Summit Pays Courtesy Visit to The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver

Vancouver, BC, 28 May 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, led by Consul General Gina Jamoralin, welcomed a delegation of Filipino startup founders and innovation leaders who are in Vancouver to participate in the Web Summit Vancouver, one of the world’s leading technology conferences.

The delegation is led by Mr. Carlo Edmund C. Calimo of StartUp Village, a Philippine-based startup incubator and accelerator that supports Filipino entrepreneurs in transforming innovative ideas into viable businesses. He is joined by Mr. Francisco Bernardo III (StartUp Village); Mr. Rishi Ramchandani (Xndria); Mr. Milo Sandig (Bayan Family of Foundations/DigitalInnov); Mr. Karlo Miguel Cuizon (Envi-comm corporation); Ms. Miranda L Macasieb (City Garden Suites); and Mr. Vince Rocha (Mylo), members of the Philippine startup community who are actively contributing to the growth of the country’s tech and innovation ecosystem.

During their courtesy call on Consul General Jamoralin, the delegation shared insights on the Philippine startup landscape and their participation in the summit, which provides an opportunity to connect with global investors, partners, and innovators. The Consulate expressed its full support to their efforts and highlighted the role of Filipino tech entrepreneurs in promoting the Philippines as a hub for innovation and creativity.

StartUp Village plays a key role in nurturing early-stage businesses in the Philippines, offering mentorship, market access, and funding networks to accelerate their growth. Through events like the Web Summit, they are helping to position Filipino startups on the global stage.

Web Summit Vancouver 2025 is currently at the Vancouver Convention Centre from 27 to 30 May 2025. This marks the first North American edition of the globally renowned tech conference as it evolves from its former North American event, Collision Conference 2024 in Toronto. END
