VICTORIA, BC 16 April 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver conducted its fourth consular and ATN outreach mission for the year from 03 to 04 May 2025 in Victoria, British Columbia.

The team provided a total of 317 consular services and administered the oath of dual citizenship to ten former Filipinos.  MWO-Vancouver and SSS Vancouver joined Vancouver PCG Team in Victoria to attend to queries from their members, as well as Temporary Foreign Workers.

The Consulate also took this opportunity to drive registration in PCG Vancouver’s Emergency Response Mapping Registry (VERMAP), which was launched on 01 January 2025 to capture information about Filipinos (including dual citizens) within Post’s jurisdiction to enable the Consulate to reach out to Filipinos living in these areas in times of emergencies.

In line with the Consulate’s continued initiative to encourage electoral participation among overseas Filipinos, the team provided information on internet voting procedures and assisted registered overseas voters with the enrollment process.

Victoria is the capital city of the province of British Columbia, located in the southern tip of Vancouver Island, with a Filipino population of about 8,525 (as of 2021) representing 2.2% of the total population in Victoria. END
