21 JULY 2025, SURREY, B.C. PCG Vancouver joined the launch of Mr. Danvic Briones’ book at the Surrey Public Library – City Centre Branch last 19 July 2025. Also in attendance at the event were Mayor Brenda Locke of the City of Surrey, members of the Surrey Public Libraries Board, and friends from the Filipino community.

In his remarks, Vice Consul Harder expressed his delight at the story’s oceanic setting and drew parallels between the myriad of characters in Jesse the Dragosaur and Philippines’ maritime diversity. He also spoke of how the story’s theme of pride in one’s identity is relevant to Filipino kids and adults alike.
