In her remarks to the graduates, Consul General Jamoralin emphasized the importance of continuing the learning journey on their own to help them continue improving their proficiency in the French language. She also encouraged them to invest their effort and time in finding ways to continue learning the language so they can acquire an additional skill that can help them professionally.

This class and the previous one that ran in September are part of the French Language Primer that the Consulate launched this year as a response to suggestions from Filipinos who attended the Post-Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS) in July.

According to the 2021 Canadian census, there are approximately 177,000 Filipinos in  the Philippine Consulate General’s areas of jurisdiction, namely British Columbia, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. This number includes international students studying in Canadian educational institutions, as well as temporary foreign workers employed in healthcare, agriculture, service industries, and other sectors.  END
