Filipinos in Victoria Benefit from Vancouver PCG’s Consular Outreach Mission

The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver conducted its second consular outreach mission for the year in Victoria, British Columbia from 25 to 26 May 2024 at the Bayanihan Center in the downtown area. The team provided a total of 174 consular services, administered the oath of dual citizenship to 30 former Filipinos and registered 107 Filipinos as Overseas Voters for the 2025 Philippine national elections.

MWO-Vancouver and SSS-Vancouver also joined the consular outreach in Victoria and were able to provide assistance to 25 and 113 clients, respectively.

Victoria is the capital city of the province of British Columbia, located in the southern tip of Vancouver Island, with a Filipino population of about 8,525 (as of 2021) representing 2.2% of the total population in Victoria.

According to the Filipino community leaders, many of the new arrivals in the island are Filipino international students. END
