Fiesta Extravaganza Held in Surrey, British Columbia

27 July 2023, Surrey, BC - Consul General Arlene T. Magno, together with the men and women of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, joined the Filipino Community at the Surrey Fiesta Extravaganza held at the Surrey Civic Plaza in Surrey, British Columbia on 22 July 2023.

The Consulate’s contingent was in full force during the event’s welcome parade. here were non-stop entertainment, musical performances, cultural presentations, games, exhibits, and numerous Filipino food vendors during the two-day event.  Surrey City Mayor Brenda Locke and MP Ed Fast were among the local government officials present during the event.

Consul General Magno, in her remarks, congratulated the Filipino Canadian Cultural Heritage Society (FCCHS) for launching the first ever Fiesta Extravaganza event in Surrey this year.  The Fiesta Extravaganza is held annually in several cities in Canada, with Surrey as the latest venue.  She also thanked the City of Surrey for the opportunity to share Philippine culture with both Filipino and Canadian guests alike.

The festival was organized by the Filipino Canadian Cultural Heritage Society (FCCHS), in partnership with ReyFort Media and Canada Fiesta Extravaganza founder Von Canton. The goal of the Fiesta Extravaganza is to provide a joyous fiesta experience to help build a stronger Filipino community. END
