02 APRIL, FORT ST. JOHN, BC. Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin paid a courtesy call on Fort St. John mayor Lilia Hansen last 22 March 2025. They were joined by Fort St. John City Councillors Gord Klassen and Jim Lequiere, and Vice Consul Marco Harder.
In the meeting, Mayor Hansen expressed her appreciation and admiration for the Filipino Community, citing its active participation in the city’s activities in addition to their contributions and exemplary work ethic. Consul General Jamoralin also enumerated upcoming projects of the Consulate aimed at engaging the Filipino Community in British Columbia and improving their welfare.
The meeting was also an opportunity for Consul General Jamoralin and Mayor Hansen to learn about areas of possible collaboration such as energy, oil and gas, and education.
Fort St. John has a population of 23,000, with 1,190 Filipinos and Filipino Canadians calling the city home. END
