Consul General Arlene Magno Visits DIVERSEcity Campus in Surrey

11 July 2023 – Upon DIVERSEcity’s invitation, Consul General Arlene T. Magno, visited their main campus in Surrey to learn about the supports available for migrant workers in the South Fraser region and beyond.  DIVERSEcity is a settlement agency which currently runs the federally-funded Collective Advocacy for Rights & Education (CARE) for Migrant Workers Program.  Services such as one-on-one case management, counseling, language classes, workshops on migrant workers’ rights, support in cases of abuse and job loss, skills training, and social and recreational events are among the services being provided under the CARE program.

Consul General Magno, who was accompanied in the visit by Acting Labor Attaché Oliva Macawili, Welfare Officer Lilia De Guzman and ATN Officer Ruel Peñaflorida, was given a tour of the facilities before the briefing.  END
