22 April 2024, Vancouver– The Philippine Consulate, as current chair of the ASEAN Consuls General in Vancouver (ACGV), organized a Table Tennis Tournament (Doubles) at the Vancouver Table Tennis Club (VTTC) on 20 April 2024.

Consul General Arlene Magno, in her remarks, said that the tournament is not just about winning or losing, but about fostering connections through a fun and active event.

This table tennis tournament is part of ACGV’s continuous efforts to promote engagement and friendship among the ASEAN families, following the ASEAN Family Day Bowling Tournament in November 2023.  The event brought together about fifty (50) diplomats and their families for a day of friendly competition and camaraderie. Sixteen (16) participants from four (4) Consulates engaged in spirited matches showcasing their athletic skills.

One of the Philippine Consulate teams clinched the first place winning all their games against the other seven teams. Team Indonesia placed second while Team Malaysia placed third.

ACGV is composed of five ASEAN Member States: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Viet Nam. END
